Okay, so I missed the DIY post I promised everyone for last week. I know, and I’m sorry. The situation with that is that I’m still very much a DIY novice and.. well.. I injured myself. Crafting a necklace out of ping pong balls proved more difficult than I bargained for. Mostly for the fact that I didn’t realise that those small plastic balls are actually more than a couple of millimeters thick. So there was me, tool-less and stabbing away with a miniature screwdriver and I completely bruised the palm of my hand and sprained my wrist too! FUN!
But moving on, and to make it up to everyone, I have a very special edition of Carbon Copies for you today. Today I’ll be showing off my absolute favorite eBay sellers of all time for replica clothing.

These sellers are pretty awesome. Any seller with 97k in their name should be the same person/peoples/organization/warehouse/cult?? I know some people out there loathe fakes, but you’re going to encounter them all over the place whether they’re using the original photos or not to promote the item. (Dotti. COUGH COUGH.) But you have to remember that these sellers are just reference points for items of clothing that you like (because they have such a huge range of different items). If you find something you like from any of these sellers, the smart thing to do is to use some of the keywords (some, not all) to look up those items on eBay. Keep in mind to sort these by “Buy It Now”, “Price + Postage: Lowest First”, and “Worldwide” with the categories narrowed down to “Clothing and Accessories”->”Women’s Clothing” (or whatever categories you want to look in). This will keep your results as pertinent as possible.
So as an example, the horse shirt that I wore in the last post. I found it in one of my favorite sellers and I looked up the keywords “horse print shirt”, sorted it with the above keywords, and that’s how I found the lowest price. They’re all the same; they’ll all be counterfeit (unless you’re looking at personal listings for second hand items etc); and they’ll all come from the same factory so it doesn’t matter which listing you pick–you might as well pick the least expensive one. And I will keep drumming in this lesson until everyone gets it and stops bagging out eBay for giving them crappy clothing: Don’t buy the item based on model pictures, buy the item based on mannequin pictures. If you buy based on what the models are wearing, you do it at your risk, because there’s no guarantee that the rip off will look like the original thing. And it usually doesn’t.

I had a bad experience with 97k that I am still peeved about. I bought a dress and then after a few days it hadn’t been marked as shipped so I asked the seller about the status. They then told me that it was out of stock and could we cancel the transaction. So I agreed. Afterwards they didn’t remove the listing but increased the cost by 1000%. So obviously they still have stock but just don’t want to sell it for that price. I haven’t left them feedback (I can’t remember if I have any other items coming in the mail) but I am tempted to leave a strong negative.

To be 100% honest with you, and I know this may not be a popular answer by any means, I reckon if they gave you your money back, there’s no sense in complaining. Worse things can happen to you than a refund and a price hike on eBay (like something turning up looking like utter shit and they don’t want to even consider refunding you!). But if they didn’t give your money back, by all means complain away!
If they really did increase the price 1000%, there’s a good chance it’s a clerical/technical error on their behalf and it’s nothing worth getting upset over.
Had a few sellers do this on me and it’s usually righted when the listing time “runs out” next. For example, I was watching a Winnie The Pooh bag that was listed at $8 and then the price changed to something like $126.78 or something absolutely insane and there was no doubt in my mind that it was just a simple mistake.

Those prices are CUH-RAYZEE, am I right?? But they’re not real. They’re all clerical errors, be they typos or glitches or what have you. They’ll eventually get corrected when the listing runs out, but even if they’re not, there are only 20 billion other listings for the same items on eBay if you know what I mean :P

I understand your point but I don’t think it was an accident. I think there is stock around but not very much. I tried to order the same dress from another seller and then they came back to me after a while and said their carrier “said the parcel was stuck in the customs.
They said, it’s the fake of some brand, really can’t understand.
So we have ended listing, for we can’t ship it out ant more”. Really?! Ofcourse it is, like half the stock these ebay stores sell, lol. Ended up taking a chance and ordering it from another seller and it was marked as shipped so fingers crossed:)

Thanks so much for providing those links, Millie, I was definitely curious about how some of those would look in real life, especially the blazer! I’m quite happy about the blazer actually; now I can go ahead and buy the pink or orange one of those in another listing, woot woot.
